Waiting

Today is the first Sunday in Advent.   It's a time of waiting.  The hymns we sing at Mass are O Come, O Come Emmanuel and My Soul in Stillness Waits. I've signed up to do Take a Stitch Tuesday (also to be referred to as TAST) in 2012.  To make it a bit more fun and to help me stay motivated, my friend Debbie, is also doing the challenge.   I have know Debbie since I was in Fourth Grade in Oklahoma City and in September 2012 we will have been best friends for 50 years.  This may not seem much of an accomplishment for most people, but the fact that she moved to Australia after college and built a life there is amazing to me!  But those who know me, know there will be much more about Debbie as I talk about my daily life... While I wait, I think I'll do The Magic Feather Project with Jude Hill!

Early monks combined a life of prayer with simple manual labor like mat weaving or basket making. I now feel the need to slow down.  There is a movement called Slow Cloth, that is my goal...to work slowly and prayerfully in my hand work.
